Ever reliable. Sincere. Dedicated father and husband. Devoted
public servant.
Governor Suharto T.
Mangudadatu carved his “niche” as the first Muslim
politician who won in the arena of a Christian-dominated province.
He has indeed proven that he can rise above religious and
cultural diversity. This, he has instilled in his mind as
his “battle cry” ever since he crossed the threshold
of politics.
Prior to assuming his
new post as governor on June 30, 2007, Mangudadatu represented
the 1st District of the Province of Sultan Kudarat in the
House of Representatives during the 13th Congress. He has
been twice elected as the chief executive of the Municipality
of Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat from 1998 to 2004. He was also
elected as the chapter president of League of Municipalities
of the Philippines, Sultan Kudarat chapter (1998-2001) and
executive vice president of the League of Municipalities of
the Philippines for Mindanao Affairs (2001-2004).
The overwhelming mandate
and support bestowed by the people in the last electoral exercises
showcase the kind of leadership he has exemplified in his
province.
Unfettered by political
controversies, he envisions continuing serving his people,
this time, as their provincial chief executive.
His dynamic and flexible
personality is best typified by his affiliation with the following
organizations: Free and Accepted Mason of the Philippines,
International Order of the Demolay, Order of the Amaranth,
Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Rotary Club of Koronadal,
Marbel Practical Shooting Association and Sultan Kudarat Practical
Shooting Association.
Governor
Sharto T. Mangudadatu, fondly called “ Teng” is
married to a former beauty queen whose roots are traceable
to an equally illustrious family, Bai Mariam Sangki Mangudadatu.
The couples were gifted with five good looking and healthy
boys.
