| Governor
Felipe Hilan A. Nava was born on February 24, 1964 in Iloilo
City.
After passing the medical
board examinations in 1991, Dr. Nava trained at the Philippine
Orthopedic Center in Quezon City from 1994 to 1998.
In 1998, he returned
to Guimaras to pursue his medical practice as an orthopedic
surgeon and traumatologist. In the same year, he also won
the mayoralty race in the Municipality of Jordan. In the subsequent
elections of 2001 and 2004 he was reelected to serve his constituents
in Jordan and pursue the various programs and initiatives
he has undertaken to ensure the socio-economic development
in the municipality.
During the May 14,
2007 elections, he handily won the mandate as the governor
of Guimaras for the next three years.
Gov. Nava took up his
Bachelor’s degree in Medicine at the West Visayas State
University in 1989, after completing his pre-medicine course
at the University of the Philippines in the Visayas in Iloilo
City in 1985.
He is married to Anna
Maria Golez Nava, with whom he has three children, namely:
Aurelia Maria Cecilia, Anna Philippa and Alejandro Joachim
Catalino.
