| Governor
Jurdin Jesus Modina Romualdo began his career as a public
servant in 1998 when he was elected as congressman representing
the lone district of Camiguin. After serving three terms in
the House of Representatives, he ran and won as governor via
a landslide victory in the May 14, 2007 elections.
Throughout his political
career, Governor Romualdo has focused in the development and
progress of Camiguin, centered on the construction of infrastructure
system in the province so as to increase production, efficiency,
accessibility and economic activity. He is also involved in
the improvement and upgrading of the province’s education
sector and the general delivery of basic services to his constituents.
He finished his elementary
and secondary education at Franciscan College of the Immaculate
Concepcion in Baybay, Leyte. Thereafter, he enrolled at Xavier
University ( Ateneo de Cagayan) where he graduated with a
degree of Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
He pursued his Bachelor
of Laws at the University of East Manila.
He
is a Lieutenant Colonel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines
Reserve Unit under the Philippine Army and a member of the
Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc. Cong.
Romualdo was a grantee of 1999 International Visitors Program
of the Thomas Jefferson International Center.
