| Governor
Jesus O. Typoco Jr., fondly known as “Atoy” and
“Jun,” was born in Daet, Camarine Norte on May
13, 1947. He and his sibling Linda Typoco-Chai were born to
parents Jesus K. Typoco and Being Ong Lo.
Prior to his foray
into the political arena, Gov. Typoco was at the helm of his
businesses which include the Federal Agricultural Corp. (FAC
Foods Inc.), Federal Trade Development Center Corp., Federal
Cattle Ranch Corporation, Federal Travel Corporation and Tycoon
Development Corporation.
He likewise served
as director of the Asia World Group of Companies and was consultant
for business development of the Clark Development Corporation.
On June 30, 2001, when
Gov. Typoco delivered his first inaugural speech as Camarines
Sur’s local chief executive, he spelled out his 7-point
program of governance – his agenda for Camarines Norte’s
progress. These programs include a health program for indigents,
expansion of the cassava plantation program, affordable housing
program for government employees, improvement of the tourism
industry, additional classrooms, and the continued operation
and expansion of the community radio in the province.
In his first two terms
as local chief executive, Gov. Typoco succeeded in having
Camarines Norte elevated into a second class province. It
is well on its way to moving up as a first class province
as foreign investors have started to arrive to reopen Camarines
Sur’s moribund mining industry.
Gov. Typoco obtained
his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, major
in Economics at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Manila.
He
is married and blessed with two sons and two daughters.
