| Looking
younger than his age of 55, Governor Arturo Tao Uy, or widely
known as “Chiongkee” was born on July 22, 1952
in Madaum, Tagum City. A graduate of Bachelor of Science in
Natural Science at the Ateneo de Davao University, he is a
successful businessman who steered his business empire into
greater heights.
“Chiongkee”
is a highly recognized name in the private world. His successful
cock-breeding business has not only earned him wealth and
more friends. It also brought him to the pedestal of great
people in the Philippine cock-breeding industry. He might
have acquired all that he wanted in life— a loving family
and wealth, but his passion for service to the people always
bugs him wherever he goes.
His simple sense of
generosity made him so popular in the hearts and minds of
his people who silently delivered for him a deafening victory
when he took his first try into politics in the 2004 elections
where he was elected as the number one board member in the
2nd District. Although it was his first actual entry into
politics, he had been working in the background, helping his
brother, Tagum City Mayor Rey Uy, who is already in his 2nd
term as mayor.
Gov. Uy made an unprecedented
landslide victory during the May 14, 2007 elections when he
toppled a deeply-rooted political name.
His passion for service
is not just seen nor heard by the people...they actually have
experienced it courtesy of his own brand of leadership and
unique touch of service.
For Gov. Uy, every
success requires great effort and hard work, yet the only
difference maybe between him and others is that...he leads
people, he follows people’s dreams (and is determined
to give it to them), and he walks with people ...with a smile.
Being
raised in a Roman Catholic family, he has high regard in taking
Sundays as a special time to be with his family and nurture
their Christian virtues. It’s no wonder, being a good-natured
man, that he is blessed with an equally kind-hearted pretty
wife, Eunese Lim, and four talented children: Morris John,
Vanessa Mae, Mes Catherine, and Jayvee Tyrone.
