| Governor
Casimiro A. Ynares III (“Gov Jun” for short) was
born on March 4, 1973. He is the second, and only son, of
the brood of three of former Rizal Province governors Casimiro
M. Ynares, Jr. of Binangonan, and Rebecca Alcantara-Ynares
of Taytay.
A graduate of B.S.
Biology at De La Salle University, he obtained his Doctor
of Medicine (M.D.) degree at the De La Salle Medical Center
in 1999. He passed the Government Examination for Career Executive
Service Officer (CESO) in 2006, and earned his Masters in
Public Administration at the University of the Philippines,
the following year. He is married to Andrea Mortel-Bautista,
daughter of former Senator Ramon Revilla, and sister of incumbent
Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr.
Prior to his election
as the 21st governor of Rizal Province, he served as general
manager of the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA), from
January 2004 to January 2005, and also from July 2005 to April
2007, and as assistant secretary (Asec.) of the DENR, during
the same period. His job at the DENR afforded him the opportunity
to be designated as executive director of the Secretariat
of the National Solid Waste Management Commission, DENR Representative
to the TRANSCO Board, and as alternate member of the Pollution
Adjudication Board (PAB). His stint in these government agencies
brought him into different parts of the world attending conferences,
trainings and seminars that have honed his knowledge and skills
in the preservation and conservation of our precious natural
resources and enhancement of the environment.
This young chief executive
of Rizal Province, who was a recipient of the 2004 Outstanding
Youth Award given by the Gawad KKK, has vowed to be a good
leader and manager, and will be guided by only principle:
“only what is best for Rizal” to bring the province
into higher level of progress and development.
He is also actively
involved with the League of Provinces of the Philippines as
its treasurer.
