PILI, CamSur – Governor LRay Villafuerte returned to the province last March 13 from a three-day business trip to the cities of Kobe and Kawanishi located in the Hyogo prefecture in Japan with splendid news that would greatly boost various development thrusts of the province.

Business and friendship ties forged during the trip, Governor Villafuerte reported, will be a big help towards establishing the province of Camarines Sur as a human resource wellspring that will answer the high technical manpower demand in Japan especially in the areas of care giving, nursing, information technology and tourism.

A job placement firm, the Japanese Nursing Service, Inc. has assured to set up an office right within the Provincial Capitol Complex to the facilitate recruitment of medical nurses and care givers which the Hyogo Prefecture Medical Zone alone requires around 3,000 trained personnel yearly.

The three-day trip to the cities of Kobe and Kawanishi located in the Hyogo prefecture was hosted by Aki Foundation President Akitugu Orui and Japanese Nursing Service President Masaaki Hirayama.

The high regard for workers from Camarines Sur in Japan has been enhanced by the free Levels III and IV Nihongo language training provided by the provincial government, the one and only such LGU-operated facility in the country.

The visit was also an excellent opportunity for Governor Villafuerte to introduce Camarines Sur as an ideal destination for the existing huge Japanese tourism clientele that flock to the country yearly and enhance the thrust to transform Camarines Sur into an information technology hub.

Together with representatives of the provincial board and Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Governor Villafuerte held a series of meetings with top Japanese government officials and business leaders including Governor Toshido Ido of the Hyogo prefecture, Kobe City Mayor Taturo Yada, Kawanishi Mayor Susumo Shibao, Kyowa Medical Inc.’s Dr. Kenzo Kiso and Kobe City civic affairs, cultural and tourism bureau director general Yoshinobo Machimoto.
