The League of Provinces asked some governors the question,
“WHY AM I ENDORSING THE SENATORIAL BID OF GOVERNOR CHAVIT SINGSON?”.
These are their responses:

ATTY. EDGAR RAMONES LARA
Governor, Province of Cagayan

Vice President for Luzon, LPP
Chair for Region II, LPP
“A man of clear visions, Governor Chavit Singson, will provide the much-needed leadership support as we gear towards a more competitive society. His experience shall provide the necessary guide as we cross more assertively to the demands of time. A known advocate of constructive changes and a firm believer of the Filipino ability, Governor Chavit will surely steer the Philippine Senate in greater stead.”
BENJAMIN T. LOONG
Governor, Province of Sulu

Chair for ARMM, LPP
“Gov. Singson deserves to be elected as Senator of the Philippines because he is the voice of the local government officials in Congress. Gov. Chavit, being also a local official like us, knows the aspiration of the local government units. Once elected as senator, he can further strengthen and further promote genuine local autonomy in the country.”
ATTY. VICTOR F. ORTEGA
Governor, Province of La Union

Board Member-at-Large, LPP
“I am endorsing Gov. Singson as a Senator because I know him to be a good person. Gov. Singson has been a big help to the Ilocano people and the tobacco industry, especially with the passage of the Tobacco Excise Tax Law, a landmark legislation which he authored when he was Congressman of the 2nd District of Ilocos Sur.”
IMELDA QUIBRANZA-DIMAPORO
Governor, Province of Lanao del Norte

Chair for Region X, LPP
Gov. Chavit Singson deserves to be elected as a senator so he could be the voice of the local governments in the Senate. He has been a governor for a very long time, and knows the problems and concerns of the local governments and he would be the best person to address them in the Senate. He is unlike the other senators whom we fully supported in the past, who, after winning the elections would barely entertain us, and if they do entertain us, there would be no action on our requests.
ATTY. ERICO B. AUMENTADO
Governor, Province of Bohol
National President, LPP
Gov. Singson represents a no non-sense form of public service and governance to improve the quality of life of our people in the countryside. His long track record and experience as a governor will provide renewed relevance in the legislative agenda of the government for genuine countryside development. Moreover, Gov. Singson can immensely contribute in realizing the vision of the present administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to build a stronger and more progressive republic in the next six (6) years.
SALVACION ZALDIVAR-PEREZ
Governor, Province of Antique

Chair, Regional Development Council VI
I am endorsing Gov. Chavit Singson as senator because, among the candidates, he is one of the few who know and understand the challenges being faced by the local governments. Having been the governor of Ilocos Sur for several terms, he knows what needs to be done for the provinces to spur its development. I have seen what he has done for Ilocos Sur, and I am sure that in the Senate he can do more to help in the development of the countryside.
TERESITA S. LAZARO
Governor, Province of Laguna

Assistant Treasurer, LPP
Gov. Chavit Singson is a good governor, who helps not only his province, but other provinces and local government units as well. He has also maintained good linkages with the governors and other leaders as well. He is generous to all and does not discriminate on whom to help. Gov. Singson is also a good friend.
RAUL R. LEE
Governor, Province of Sorsogon
I am endorsing the senatorial bid of Gov. Chavit Singson because he can best represent the total implementation of the Local Government Code, unlike Sen. Pimentel whose idea of devolution and local autonomy was only on paper, but not in practice. Chavit in his long time experience as a local chief executive can best serve the interest of the LGUs, especially in championing genuine devolution and local autonomy. This is aside from the fact that he is my friend.

ROSETTE Y. LERIAS
Governor, Province of Southern Leyte

Vice-President for Visayas, LPP
Chairperson, Eastern Visayas Regional Development Council
“I am endorsing Gov. Chavit Singson because he will be the voice of the Local Government Units in the Senate.”
PEDRO L. BACANI
Governor, Province of Quirino
I am endorsing Gov. Chavit Singson for Senator because I believe that he can best carry the issues of the local governments, particularly those relative to genuine local autonomy and decentralization in the Senate.

ATTY. JOSE V. YAP
Governor, Province of Tarlac
I am endorsing Gov. Chavit Singson, firstly because as governors, we have collectively endorsed him, through the League of Provinces of the Philippines, to champion the concerns of the local government units and local government officials relative to reinforcing local autonomy and ensuring local development. Both of them are likewise my friends.
LORETO LEO S. OCAMPOS
Governor, Province of Misamis Occidental

Public Information Officer, LPP
Chairman, Northern Mindanao Regional Development Council
I am supporting the senatorial candidacy of Gov. Chavit Singson for three reasons: first, because of his broad experience in governance; second, he is the best person to bring the concerns of local government units, especially that of the governors, to the Senate; and, third, he is a man of integrity and competence.
BORROMEO P. MELCHOR
Governor, Province of Benguet

Chairman for CAR, LPP

I personally endorse Gov. Chavit Singson as a senator because as a long-serving governor, he knows the problems that the LGUs are faced with. There is an urgent need to amend many provisions in the Local Government Code and he would be in the best position to propose them, coming from the LGU himself. Gov. Singson has and can still do a lot to support the development of the provinces.

LUISA L. CUARESMA
Governor, Province of Nueva Vizcaya
Gov. Chavit Singson is a co-local government leaders, an Ilocano, and will surely support local government units in the Senate.
