Reelectionist
Camarines Sur Gov. Luis Raymund F. Villafuerte Jr. expressed
his joy and extended his thanks to the Camarines Sur constituencies
for his victory.
Even before the election day last May 14, as Gov. LRay has
been assured of all-out support by municipal and barangay
leaders, he already felt certain of a renewed mandate as
approval of his service accomplishments during the past
three years.
He took an early lead against his opponent former third
district congressman Eduardo Pilapil.
Gov. Villafuerte extended his sincere and wholehearted appreciation
and gratitude to the residents of Camarines Sur as well
as to his local leaders, to other individuals and agencies
who have given their support and cooperation for the clean
and peaceful conduct of the election.
The young governor, now that the political contest is over,
is calling for the unity to set aside whatever differences
that have sparked during the campaign period and to resume
the usual cooperation and to work together for the good
of the province.
Meanwhile, the other candidates in Camarines Sur who won
in the province are as follows:
For
congressmen: first district – presidential son Dato
Arroyo; second district – reelectionist Luis R. Villafuerte;
third district – reelectionist Arnulfo “Noli”
P. Fuentebella; fourth district – reelectionist Felix
“Nancing” R. Alfelor Jr. For vice-governor –
reelectionist Salvio “Sal” Fortuno. (Bicol Tribune,
