LEAGUE OF PROVINCES OF THE PHILIPPINES

MEMORANDUM 2004-001

FOR : ALL NEW GOVERNORS
FROM : THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT
RE : COURSE FOR NEW LOCAL MANAGERS
DATE : 4 AUGUST 2004

The Local Government Academy (LGA), the training arm of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), in partnership with the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) will be conducting a course for new local managers, “JUMPSTARTING LOCAL DEVELOPMENT: MANAGING THE FIRST STEPS,” on August 21-22, 2004 at the Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City. The program is designed to increase awareness of the elected provincial officials on the most significant and critical areas of concern in local governance.

Participants to the program are first term governors, vice governors and members of the Sanggunian Panlalawigan. In the training, participating provinces will prepare their development agenda which will underscore the development thrusts of the executive and legislative branches towards the attainment of common vision for the locality.

In this connection, we would like to invite you, your Vice Governor and at least three (3) members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. While the Academy is responsible in managing the actual implementation of the training, a REGISTRATION FEE will be charged by the League to defray the cost of your board and lodging and some incidental expenses to the program. We have attached DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2004-71 enjoining participation in the training and authorizing you to charge your training and traveling expenses from local funds. For confirmation, please fill up the attached slip and send it back to us on or before August 10, 2004.

Thank you and we look forward to see you in this program.

(Sgd.) ERICO B. AUMENTADO
National President
