ENHANCING TOURISM COMPETITIVENESS

Camarines Sur governor and Bicol RDC chairman L-Ray Villafuerte (2nd from left) pushes for the aggressive promotion of Central Philippines as the country’s main tourist destination during the Governor’s Forum held in Cebu City recently. The governors of the 25 provinces comprising the Central Philippines Super Region met to come up with strategies and an infrastructure investment blueprint to promote it as the country’s tourism showcase. The P163-billion medium-term infrastructure package targeted for completion in 2010 includes the construction of new and the rehabilitation of existing airports, seaports, roads, the PNR Main Line South and energy production and distribution projects.
