CITY
OF MALOLOS – Bulacan was recently adjudged as the
Most Business Friendly province for the third consecutive
year during the 32nd anniversary of the Philippine Business
Conference held recently in Manila Hotel.
The award presented by Her Excellency, President Gloria
Macapagal-Arroyo and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce
and Industry (PCCI) President Ambassador Donald G. Dee placed
the province in the prestigious Hall of Fame circle of awardees.
With this milestone, the Federation of Filipino-Chinese
Chamber of Commerce and Industry gave one school building
for the province.
President
Arroyo said that the Philippine Global business community
is the standard bearer for the country and the success of
PCCI is reflective of the country’s success. “Let
us not retreat from what we have started for the glory of
the Philippines, let us go on working for one global Filipino,
Philippine economy”, President Arroyo said.
This year’s theme “One Global Filipino”
underlines the challenge for businesses to compete in the
international market.
Eduardo Lacson, Chairman of the Philippine Business Conference
encouraged everyone to complete globally. “We are
not fighting each other anymore, this is team Philippines,
brand Philippines”.
Governor Josefina Mendoza-dela Cruz, who received the award,
has expressed her appreciation for recognizing Bulacan’s
business efforts as the most impressive and acceptable policies
and programs for existing and potential investors and businessmen,
both local and foreign.
She
cited that this is one of the most special awards the province
has ever received because the business community is among
the most critical and fastidious audience and partner of
the government, yet, the programs geared towards creating
a favorable environment in jumpstarting or expanding business
ventures in the province have met their high standards.
“This would encourage more investors to invest in
Bulacan,” Dela Cruz declared.
This year, PCCI has selected Bulacan after besting out other
provincial contenders in demonstrating leadership through
continued and sustained efforts to promote trade, investment
and tourism in the locality as well as fostering close relationship
not only with the private sector but also with other local
government units within the province.
The Most Business Friendly province award also highlighted
Bulacan’s strict compliance in the application of
business permit and other standard procedures that promote
fair, honest and prompt service that attracts businesses
and investments.
“This award is for every Bulakenyo, for their effort
in promoting excellence and fostering unity to achieve success,”
the lady governor said. (PPAO)
