Governor Josie dela Cruz committed to pursue the efficient delivery of health and social services to the people of Bulacan.

BULACAN BAGS A HALL OF FAME FOR SOCIAL SERVICES

CITY OF MALOLOS - Bulacan bags for the third time an accolade for social services, placing Rowena Tiongson, head of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, in the roster of Hall of Fame awardees.

The award was given by the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines Inc . led by its national president, Ernesto Montecillo , at the Centennial Hall, Manila Hotel.

This was conferred based on the successful implementation of relevant social services to alleviate the plight of the public especially the disadvantaged sectors.

Tiongson is the only PSWDO head to receive the Most Outstanding Social Worker recognition in the provincial level.

She attributed this consistent recognition to the effective partnership between the local government and volunteer groups who help in the implementation of the programs down to the barangay level.

She added that the delivery of social services is a form of reciprocation to the taxes paid by the public to finance the projects and activities initiated by the provincial government.

She, however, emphasized that the province has rejected the traditional practice of mendicancy and dole-outs and has stepped-up in implementing responsive programs that will give long-term benefits to its stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Tiongson also revealed the upcoming award to be received by the province, the Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition ( CROWN) on October 23.

Governador Josie dela Cruz expressed elation for the back to back recognition for the province.

Dela Cruz cited that the double recognitions would further inspire the local government to be more proactive and responsive in the provision of quality services to improve the lives of the Bulakeños in general. ### PPAO
