Uplift
International’s Head of Mission Jaime Yrastorza together
with Dr. Richard Bryan, Dr. Martin Helldorfer, Megs Lunn,
Dr. Rafael Jocson and Architect RJ Ureta called on Gov.
Joseph G. Marañon at the Capitol recently and informed
him that their team is conducting an ocular inspection of
the different Provincial Government-run hospitals for their
forthcoming Medical Mission in early 2008.
“Mending
faces…one child at a time,” is Uplift International’s
mission as they provide mending care to poor children with
disfigured faces from clefts of the lip and palate.
The
group conducted its first mission early this year in Kabankalan
City.
Operation
“Taghoy” Mission 2008 is next year’s outreach
activity wherein a 36-man delegation composed of surgeons,
anesthesiologists, pediatricians, orthodontists, nurses
and outreach personnel are set to provide free medical/surgical
mission in cooperation with the Provincial Government of
Negros Occidental through the Economic Enterprise Development
Department’s Hospital Operations Division. The activity
will be conducted at the Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital
in Silay City.
Gov.
Marañon also encouraged the group to conduct the
same mission in the northern part of the province so that
patients in the area can also avail of the opportunity provided
by the team.*/CAPITOL NEWS
