The
League of Provinces of the Philippines has plotted program
directions and thrusts for the next three years in its General
Action Plan.
In line with his vision of priming the LPP to be the premier
league in the country, Gov. Loreto Leo S. Ocampos presented
to the National Executive Board the three-year action plan,
which aims to enhance the capacity of the provincial chief
executives and other key officials in local development
and governance, uphold meaningful and genuine local autonomy,
help build self-reliant communities, strengthen partnership
with the national government and other LGUs.
Likewise, the GAP hopes to improve the efficiency of the
league as an organization.
Ultimately, the leadership of the LPP hopes that the promotion
of countryside development and growth opportunities for
the constituents can be provided through the plan.
Moreover,
the league has sought the assistance of the national government
in order to implement the programs, advocacies, development
initiatives and interventions contained in the plan.
While
the National Executive Board has approved the GAP, it has
sought the support of Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in funding
its various capability building programs and activities.
