New govs trained on effective management

FIRST-term governors underwent a two-day training intended to facilitate the new officials’ transition into their roles as effective managers.

The training entitled “Jumpstarting Local Development: Managing the First Steps,” conducted by the Local Government Academy of the Department of Interior and Local Government, with the support of the League of Provinces of the Philippines, in Waterfront Cebu City Hotel on August 21 and 22.

Interior and Local Government Sec. Angelo Reyes said the LGA has developed different training modules and courses on various aspects of local government administration.

The course consisted of the following modules: Philippine Local Governance and Development, Innovative Approaches in Managing Local Government and Local Agenda Setting.
